Message from RFC President

Hi All

SANFL last night announced the postponement of the 2020 Statewide Super Women’s League until May 31, this is also in line with the postponement of the Mens Statewide Super SANFL competition earlier this week.
It was also strongly recommended that all Community Football competitions across South Australia also be postponed until that date.
The Southern Football League and it’s member clubs have unanimously agreed to support this stance.

Just to confirm that this is a POSTPONEMENT of the 2020 Football season and it is still hoped that we will be able to salvage some of this season across all grades after May 31st
in the form of a 9 round shortened competition starting from 20th June 2020 across all grades, of course this will also be subject to further development or recommendations on the COVID-19 situation.

In addition, SANFL has postponed National Pharmacies SANFL Juniors and NAB AFL Auskick until May 31.

The 2020 SANFL U16 Torrens University Cup, which commenced two weeks ago, has also been cancelled.

SANFL CEO Jake Parkinson said the health and well-being of fans, players, umpires, officials and communities has been the number one priority throughout this decision-making process.

The Leagues will continue to review these decisions based on the changing circumstances and advice from government and relevant health authorities.

SANFL is continuing to work with all affiliated Community Football leagues to provide ongoing support during this extremely challenging time.

The full committee of the Reynella Football Club met last night to discuss these issues and have agreed to fully support the decisions made by the AFL, SANFL and our Southern Football League.
We are all hopeful that this postponement of the Season until 31 May 2020 will allow us to better understand this COVID-19 virus moving forward.

We will continue to provide updates as they become relevant to you and the club and thank you all for supporting not just the Club but also or Community as a whole by being so understanding.

For those of you that have paid subs already thank you, once we know more about how this season will look we will advise any changes to fees etc.

Stay Safe
Regards
