Concussion Information:
Concussion Management: Updated March 2024
The Australian Institute of Sport made recommendations for changes in concussion management in sports. In March the AFL introduced a new concussion management policy for all levels of football reflecting these changes. The SANFL and community sport accepted these changes and these changes have been implemented at all levels.
Any player suspected of concussion will be removed from play and referred off for medical assessment.
All players that have sustain concussion or are suspected of having concussion will enter a minimum 21 day return to sport guideline and medical clearance required before return to contact training, after day 14.
